Cancer Screen, Detect and Protect Project

The BME Health Forum has been commissioned by the Vibrant & Healthy Communities,  Community Chest -North West London NHS to work with seven partners including:

• Iranian Association
• Middle Eastern Women’s Society Organisation
• WAND UK
• FORWARD
• Abdul Mageed Educational Trust
• The Sudanese Nubian Association
• SW1 CIC

Our partners will identify Cancer Ambassadors within their communities to pass on information about cancer screening and early detection.

They will also identify cancer survivors within their communities and encourage them to tell their story (or the story of a close family member). In some cases, these people might be the same as the ambassadors identified above. And to deliver bespoke, culturally appropriate four workshops on breast, cervical, bowel and 'male cancers'-prostate and testicular cancers to educate their service users and raise their awareness about these cancers screening programmes provided by the NHS to improve accessibility and increase uptake. 

The project will be delivered during December 2023 to June 2024.
