London Resilience Newsletter - October 2025

mayor of london london resilience.pngWelcome to the October 2025 edition of the London Resilience Newsletter.

Over the last few days we have seen the devastating Hurricane Melissa passing through Jamaica, Cuba and the Caribbean. We know that communities across London will be coming together in response, to support those affected and one another.

We are aware of the following community fundraising appeal from Black Curatorial that many people are donating to: https://www.gofundme.com/f/CaribbeanHurricaneFund

Please reach out directly to us or the London Communities Emergencies Partnership (LCEP) if you need support.

Last week, members of the London Resilience Unit took part in the London Partnership Capabilities Show and Tell Event (see image above, for the team in action). The event was an interactive showcase, designed to enhance awareness and collaboration across partners.

The team spoke about the role of London Resilience in the context of the rest of the resilience ecosystem, as well as the crucial role of community resilience in making London more robust to acute incidents and future crises.

We know that the last few months have been especially difficult for our faith communities. We have an amazing diverse community of faith groups across London who come together in times of crisis to support each other and strengthen the resilience of the city. That’s why we’re proud to be supporting Inter Faith Week, which this year is taking place between Sunday 9th – Sunday 16th November. This powerful annual initiative dedicated to strengthening interfaith relations, fostering mutual understanding, and showcasing the invaluable contributions of faith communities. Find out more about how you can get involved and register for upcoming events here.
