The GSK IMPACT Awards are for charities with total annual income between £150,000 and £3 million. They are funded by GSK and provide core funding and free training for charities doing excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Up to 15 awards will be made, ranging from £4,000 to £50,000, plus free training and development valued at a further £13,500. Closing date Wednesday 20 August 2025.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster Council Public Health are funding free Suicide Prevention training available to anyone living or working in the boroughs. The aim is to prevent suicide in our communities and offer support to those impacted by it. Help us make a difference by attending our training.

Overview: On Wednesday 12 March 2025, Chief Executives of all 42 Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) were briefed by NHS England that ICBs would face significant (approx. 50%) cost reductions in 2025/26. This is because the government wants to focus resources on frontline care. All parts of the NHS, including providers and national bodies, are being told to further reduce non-frontline spending. It was later announced that NHS England – the body which leads the NHS – will close and a number of its functions will move into the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC).

The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has released a new statement saying that it will not reject applications from charities that have used AI tools. Recognising the value in tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Claude to save time and improve accessibility, NLCF have reassuringly said “you can use AI tools to help write your funding application. We will not reject an application just because AI was used.” Although AI applications will be considered, they have recommended to charities to make sure they personalise their applications and avoid using AI-suggested budgets without reviewing them.
A Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership represents the service user voice in NHS maternity and neonatal services. Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Trust has Mental Health Ward Volunteer opportunities at St Charles Hospital - Mental Health Centre. This role is part of their VtC programme, which is designed to give volunteers practical experience in mental health care while supporting our incredible teams. The Prevent Awareness Workshop is a 1.5 hours training session that runs monthly for internal and external staff on the following: Prevent and CONTEST; Extremism, Radicalisation, Terrorism; Risk indicators of radicalisation – how to identify individuals who are susceptible; Local safeguarding and referral mechanisms and people to contact for further help and advice; and, Latest extremism and radicalisation risks/ The national threat picture.

The Westminster City Council website now has a translate button at the top which gives translation of all pages in 20 languages. The translation is through google translate - so it is not going to be perfect, but it may help with sharing information with a resident who doesn't speak English. Also they would be keen to have some feedback about whether people find it useful or not, and anything that could be improved.

The BME Health Forum was commissioned by Rethink and the NHS to work in collaboration with four BME grassroot organisations to conduct a survey regarding suicide prevention and mental health with one hundred residents. The survey was conducted during October 2023-March 2024. You can now read the final report of the survey findings which is also available to download from our website.

It is recognised that in many cases a number of callers to emergency services may not have English as their first language. In such instances, a third party language translation service may be used to assist the EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatcher) in taking the details of the call (at the point of the 999 or 111 call) . [This is done by conferencing in the interpreter once the language required is confirmed].
