The Befriending Service at the Chinese Mental Health Association is running a pilot Personalisation project for ethnic Chinese sufferers of mental health.
We provide tailored support in helping mental health service users to secure a personal budget.
The service is set up to help ethnic Chinese individuals with mental health problems and other long term support needs in London to help apply for a Personal Budget. We offer help through the entire process from checking entitlement, assisting with assessments, liasing with the council to plan resource allocation, and provide assistance in planning a support package.
Personalisation is about giving people with needs choice and control over their care, with support and resources provided by their local authority. The Personalisation Service is set up to help eligible ethnic Chinese individuals in London to help and apply for a Personal Budget, which is a clear, up-front allocation of money that an individual can use to buy other support services which meets their care needs.
If you have never contacted your local council about your needs, you could be entitled to receiving additional support that you are missing out on. Even if you already have a Support Plan in place, you can still apply for a Personal Budget to buy services and care which are more tailored to your specific needs.
We offer help through the entire process from checking entitlement, assisting with assessments, liasing with the council to plan resource allocation, and provide assistance in planning a support package. Please get in touch to find out more about the service or to find out about your entitlement. Please contact Mr Wei Du on 020 7613 1008 or by emailing wei@cmha.org.uk for more information or to make a referral.
