Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Project (October 2023-March 2024)
The project is funded by Rethink Mental Illness and the NHS North West London Integrated Care System.
The project outline:
A partnership with 4 BAME organisations, each delivering a programme of activity in one of four boroughs including Westminster, RBKC, Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealling to address stigma around suicide and mental health:
Our partners delvering the project including:
- Abdul Mageed Educational Trust (Westminster)
- Iranian Association (Hammersmith & Fulham)
- Education and Skills Development Group (Ealing)
- Sudanese Community and Information Centre (RBKC)
The Aims of the project including
- More people will have good mental health
- More people with mental health problems will recover
- More people with mental health problems will have good physical health
- More people will have a positive experience of care and support
- Fewer people will suffer from avoidable harm
- Fewer people will experience stigma and discrimination
As part of this project a survey was conducted with community members from during October 2023-March 2024
A report on the survey findings, written by Phayza Fudlalla – Engagement and Projects Manager at teh BME Health Forum, was completed August 2024
