JOB: Farsi-Speaking Domestic Violence and Welfare Advisor (apply by 19.10.26)

The Middle Eastern Women and Society Organisation (MEWSo) is looking for a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Farsi-Speaking Domestic Violence and Welfare Advisor to join our Advice Department.

The successful candidate will support vulnerable women from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee communities, many of whom have experienced domestic abuse or are living in complex circumstances. The role involves providing high-quality welfare and domestic abuse advice, emotional and practical support, advocacy, referrals, safety planning and support with accessing relevant services.

Job Title: Farsi-Speaking Domestic Violence and Welfare Advisor

Working Hours: Two days per week (flexible)

Salary: £28,000 per annum pro rata (£11,200 per annum for two days per week)

Location: Westminster Office, Church Street Neighbourhood Centre, Cherwell House, Penfold Street, NW8 8PT. Remote working may be possible by prior agreement with the supervisor.

Applicants should have a relevant degree and at least three years’ experience working in advocacy or supporting vulnerable people. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in Farsi and English. The ability to speak Kurdish-Sorani would be highly desirable. Experience and knowledge of domestic abuse, welfare issues, safeguarding, risk management and safety planning are essential.
