Cold Health and Weather Alert in London until 22 November
A cold health and weather alert is now in place for London until Saturday 22nd November 2025.
Impacts include:
- increased health risk especially for older people and those with health conditions,
- higher demand for services including healthcare,
- challenge to keep homes warm, at the recommended 18°C.
Actions you can take in your community:
- Inform your community of the cold health and weather alert
- Activate warm and welcoming spaces alongside your community emergency plans (if you have one)
- Check that older residents, neighbours and those with a health condition have adequate heating and support
- Ensure your staff and volunteers know what to do and how to look after themselves
