Community Public Health Programme (CPHP) News
This is the first edition of our fortnightly e-newsletter to our Community Public Health Programme partners. It will include updates to support and promote your initiatives.
CPHP Updates: Finance
We want to firstly thank you all for your patience during this transitional period as RBKC moved onto the new Oracle system. All 10 lead partners have been sent their PO’s. For those that are yet to submit, please ensure you submit your invoice including your POs (no PO, no pay policy) to RBKCInvoices@rbkc.gov.uk.
We have been informed of a large backlog for payment authorisation which is not ideal but unfortunately is a system wide issues for all council payment. Our team are following this up daily to escalate timely payments. So again, we apologies for any delays.
Public Health Priority: Stop Smoking Services
Free stop smoking support
Did you know that it’s World No Tobacco Day on Saturday, 31 May?
We’re encouraging all partners across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster to support this year’s World No Tobacco Day to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and promote local quit smoking support services.
If you’re a smoker and thinking of quitting, or work with residents who do, free help is at hand with One You Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.
What the service offers
As well as quit smoking support, One You Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea offer cardiovascular prevention services and Making Every Contact Count training, with a renewed focus on addressing health inequalities. Working closely with VCS organisations like yourselves, partners and residents, support is targeted towards those who need it most including ethnically diverse communities, people with a disability and those with mental health issues.

Public Health Updates
UHSA urges Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to get meningitis vaccination

UKSHA are urging travellers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for Umrah and the upcoming Hajj pilgrimages to ensure they are vaccinated against meningococcal disease with the MenACWY vaccine, due to ongoing outbreaks of serogroup W (MenW) disease associated with travel to KSA.
UKHSA has confirmed 5 cases of MenW disease between February and March 2025 in people who had recently returned from KSA or in their close contacts in England and Wales.
Invasive meningococcal disease is rare but serious and is caused by meningococcal bacteria. Meningococcal meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord) and septicaemia (blood poisoning) are severe conditions that can kill or leave people with life-changing disabilities.
You can read more on signs and symptoms and benefits of vaccination in our press release on gov.uk. Further information on vaccinations and travel health precautions for KSA is available on the NaTHNaC website.
