Faith in Safeguarding: Pop-up Clinics

image002 (3).pngAs part of the DBS Barring Campaign, DBS will be hosting 8 in-person pop-up clinics for Faith organisations and networks based in the South East of England. They are inviting faith sector organisations who may be interested in joining them to learn more about barring referrals and the legal duty to refer.

The first of these events will take place in Reading on the 06th November 2025 and there will also be events in Tonbridge, Kent on the 18th November. They want to give the opportunity for faith organisations and networks located close to these areas to attend.

These events will be an opportunity to meet our South East DBS Regional Outreach Adviser Kelly Matthews, ask questions about the barring referral process and learn how to submit referrals. DBS relies on organisations sharing timely information with them when there are concerns that an individual has harmed or poses a future risk of harm to vulnerable groups including adults. Some organisations will also have a legal duty to refer to DBS when certain conditions are met. The pop-up clinics provide opportunity to learn more about this and how we can work together to safeguard vulnerable groups.

If you would like to find out more about the pop-up clinics and register for a place on one you can do so by clicking on the Eventbrite hyperlink here- Eventbrite Link.

These are free events and are most relevant to those who are in Safeguarding positions, HR teams or involved in recruitment, and those who manage individuals who are engaging in regulated activity.

If you have any questions about these events, please do not hesitate to reach out to colleague Kelly at Kelly.Matthews@dbs.gov.uk
