The Greening Westminster annual grant funding programme is designed to improve and increase Westminster’s green infrastructure and open spaces. It seeks to continue to connect with and empower community groups across the borough to transform existing green spaces and provide fairer access.
Last year The Onion Garden delivered a greening project to transform an unused pocket of paved space between buildings. The project has allowed members of the local community to have a hand in bringing the garden to life with 150 species, including herbs, wildflowers, and fruit trees.
They wish to raise awareness amongst communities and encourage visitors, especially those from lesser heard groups. As part of this, we are inviting the elderly to celebrate the Christmas festivities at this newly transformed green space.
The FREE event will include:
- A Brief introduction and tour of the space
- Opportunity to meet and mingle over festive catering
- Christmas lantern painting
- Group photos
