Funding from the Mayor of London to strengthen communities– Apply now!

The Mayor of London has launched the Loved and Wanted Fund, a new initiative to promote unity, respect and togetherness across the capital.
London has a proud history of celebrating diversity as our biggest power. Our city’s heritage is built on the strength of the many communities who call it home, working together and standing united in our shared values.
London is at its best when we build connections and relationships across our diverse communities. Cohesion isn’t about conformity to some sense of a single view of what “Britishness” is; it is about celebrating the strength and diversity of our communities, it is about addressing inequality, and ensuring all Londoners can participate in every aspect of our city’s life.
No wonder, earlier this year the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, launched the Loved and Wanted campaign to provide a loud and undeniably clear message that in our city – everyone is welcome, loved and wanted.
Far-right actors deliberately and maliciously seek to stoke fear and divide diverse communities within our city but together and through our commitment to our city’s values of inclusivity and openness, we will not let them succeed.
We can’t take for granted how challenging these times are, acknowledging that division and hatred is on the rise. Leaders and politicians of all stripes have a duty to use their positions and their words carefully and do more to bring people together rather than drive us apart.
We must create opportunities to ensure communities come together and have access to local services. We cannot do this alone – Londoners and the civil society organisations who support and serve them are key.
That’s why, I’m so proud to announce that the Mayor has committed a further £900,000 of investment for these organisations across London.
As part of the Loved & Wanted Fund, up to 15 venue-based organisations will receive funding to expand their vital work.
This will range from hosting community events to improving access to a number of services, such as mental health, employment and financial support.
If you’re a venue-based community organisation in London and are interested or know an organisation that might be, please apply or share this opportunity.
