Great Mental Health Day aims to get Londoners talking about mental health, to highlight the great support available, and, crucially, take the stigma out of asking for help.

Be it in a community kitchen, at a local craft group, or on the sports pitch, these trusted local spaces are often the first step towards accessing the great services available to Londoners all year round.

On the Thrive LDN blog, Dr Chantelle Fatania, Consultant in Public Health, Haringey Council, reflects on how Great Mental Health Day, now five years on, continues to shine a light on the community spaces where trust is built.

Listen back to Lynette Charles, CEO of Mind in Haringey, talking about GMHD and how it's been supporting Londoners in her BBC London interview from earlier this year.
