Healthwatch Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea engagement opportunities (Know Your Rights & Have your Say)
Know Your Rights sessions
Healthwatch Westminster
“Know Your Rights” are a series of free sessions that we run with different groups in the local community to help individuals feel more confident about navigating the complex healthcare system. The sessions are designed to help individuals understand their rights when accessing health and social care services.
What we cover:
- The NHS constitution
- Rights for groups such as migrants and carers
- The right to choose your healthcare provider
- What to do if something goes wrong
- Advocacy
- Getting help from Westminster Council
Who should attend?
We invite everyone – from patients to caregivers and community members – interested in understanding their healthcare rights to attend these sessions.
What happens after each session?
Following each session, residents will be able to provide feedback and request additional information and support on other health-related topics that were not covered. This will inform and expand the resources we provide each quarter.
Please contact Healthwatch if you would like to arrange a "Know Your Rights" session in your community setting.
General feedback
Our "Have your say" form enables us to collaborate with residents to identify and monitor existing and emerging health concerns which you can view here. This engagement will include Healthwatch staff and volunteers attending drop-in sessions routinely to collect feedback from residents to influence future project priorities. This will be an impactful opportunity to inform local authorities and decision makers on ways to improve gaps in health and social care services to better support underserved groups.
Please get in touch with Blessing at Blessing.Ogunoshun@advocacyproject.org.uk if you have any questions, and she'll be happy to assist.
