Shade_the_UK_and_London_Resilience_logos.jpgINVITE: London's Heat Preparedness Interviews with Shade the UK

September is Preparedness Month and after four heatwaves this summer, it’s clear that London is increasingly challenged by extreme heat. As the summer season winds down, it's time to focus on how London can prepare for rising temperatures and ensure that next summer we’re ready.

London Resilience is working in collaboration with Shade the UK to interview people in London about their experiences with extreme heat. This project will help inform the Mayor’s Heat Risk Delivery Plan for London.

Tackling the impacts of extreme heat requires building a culture of resilience where no one is left behind. This is why we want to engage with Voluntary, Community, and Faith organisations who work with people considered more vulnerable to heatwaves and those that are currently underrepresented in current heat-resilience conversations.

What will participating involve?

  • ~30minute interview (in person or online).
  • Participants will get a £20 e-voucher.
  • Language translation (including BSL) is available if required.
  • The interviews will be carried out throughout September.

Who can participate?

  • People who work or volunteer for a Voluntary, Community, or Faith organisation in London.
  • Beneficiaries of Voluntary, Community, or Faith organisations in London.

How can you help?

  • If you know someone in your organisation who could be interviewed, or if you can help Shade the UK connect with the people who use your services, please get in touch at shreya.kapur@shadetheuk.co.uk
