London Resilience Newsletter - June 2025

Dear Partners,

Welcome to the June 2025 edition of the London Resilience Newsletter. This monthly newsletter provides updates, support and advice on building resilience in your communities from London Resilience and our partners.

This month saw the tragic Air India flight crash and the escalated conflict between Israel and Iran. These international incidents will have affected communities and families in London. Thrive LDN have free trauma-informed practice resources available online.

As you will no doubt be aware, London Climate Action Week took place last week, on 21st-29th June. London Resilience took part in  discussing the prominent issues facing communities across the capital. Michele Vianello, our Resilience Manager for Prevention, spoke at the Co-creating the climate resilient city: stories from the frontlines event and talked about how we are involving communities in building resilience.

Our Head of Strategy, Prevention, and Community Resilience, Kristen Guida,  attended the European Urban Resilience Forum in Rotterdam and took part in a panel on Building Urban Resilience in an Era of Polcycrisis: The Holistic Agenda alongside other experts from the resilience world.

We post regularly on BlueSky, so please follow us for the latest news, events and launches.

unnamed_13_1.png

Protection Approaches is working with London Resilience to develop a new Equalities Partnership within the London Resilience Forum (LRF). The Partnership will provide a space for equity-focused and equality-led organisations to influence how London plans for and responds to emergencies — centring the needs and perspectives of marginalised communities.

If your organisation supports marginalised communities or works with/for individuals with protected characteristics under the Equality Act, Protection Approaches want to hear from you on what the Equalities Partnership should look like and what it should do. You can engage with this process and feed in your perspectives in a variety of ways:

You can get involved by:
