Lost and Found: Refugee Art Exhibition in Paddington Library

Background on exhibition:

“Lost and Found” is a group art exhibition that explores themes of displacement, loss, resilience, and identity through the creative voices of individuals who have experienced forced migration and its emotional aftermath. Held at Paddington Library from 16th to 23rd June, the exhibition features the work of ten artists from diverse backgrounds, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, and Ukraine. The artists, both adults and children, share their personal journeys through painting, drawing, embroidery, mixed media, and visual storytelling.

The title “Lost and Found” reflects the emotional journeys of the artists. They are not professionally trained; rather, they are individuals who turned to art as a way to process experience, seek comfort, and momentarily escape the harsh realities of life in exile. Through their work, they transform personal pain into powerful expressions of identity, hope, and resilience.
