Do you work with people whose health or well-being has been shaped by where they live, work or grew up? We’re looking for individuals interested in taking part in a free online training programme, which will equip them to become confident spokespeople on health inequalities.

We’d love to hear from individuals from a range of backgrounds across the UK, including those with lived experience of issues such as poor housing, financial hardship, social isolation, poor local environments or barriers to healthy living, as well as those who have seen positive change through community support or improved circumstances.

This could include people already involved in your charity:

•      Patient advocates or members of lived-experience panels

•      Community champions, peer supporters or ambassadors

•      Service users involved in co-production or advisory groups

•      People interested in speaking up about barriers affecting health in their communities

The programme will run online between June and July 2026. Participants will receive media and communications training, confidence-building support and opportunities to safely share their story through campaign and media activity:

•      Five online workshops (2 hours each)

•      Monthly peer networking sessions with other participants

No previous media experience is needed.

Interested but want to find out more first? Join our Q&A webinar on 27 May, 13:00 – 14:00, to hear more about the programme, ask questions and see whether it’s the right fit.

Deadline to apply is 1 June. Find out more and apply here, or get in touch with Dija by emailing dijah@mediatrust.org
