Planning application for the Fleming Centre now live for comment (until 10.03.26)
As you may know, Imperial College Healthcare has over the past 18 months developed proposals for the Fleming Centre – a new, state-of-the-art research and public engagement hub focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research. The Centre will be located in the Paddington Basin at The Bays, next to St Mary’s Hospital.
We are pleased to share that we have now submitted the planning application to Westminster City Council. This follows the design competition and two-phase public consultation.
Across all phases of consultation, we received:
- 600+ attendees to all in-person events across the Design Competition and two-phase public consultation
- All respondents support the delivery of the Fleming Centre
- 90% support for the Centre’s sustainable design
- 71% support for the proposed design approach which retains elements of The Bays building within the new Centre
Now that our planning application has been submitted, Westminster City Council has begun its statutory consultation, and they are inviting comments from the public.
If you would like to share your views, you can do so by visiting the planning portal and searching for the application using the reference number: 25/08914/FULL
We would be grateful if you could share this with your networks to ensure a full range of responses to the application. Westminster City Council have asked for all comments to be received no later than 10 March to ensure timely progression of the application
