Mental Health Learning Programme – ‘Understanding Hoarding’

This event has been organised as part of the SAEB’s implementation of the self-neglect and hoarding strategy and accompanying hoarding toolkit and follows on from the initial launch webinar which is being held on 19th February 2024. It offers insights into hoarding from a mental health perspective and will support practitioners from a range of agencies to have increased knowledge around hoarding and to build skills in supporting individuals who experience this form of self-neglect.

To increase your understanding of the:
- Biological origins of hoarding, including organic brain disease and neurodivergence.
- Psychological causes of hoarding and the impact on a person's life and relationships.
- Importance of a trauma-informed approach.
- Range of specialist mental health services available.
- Human stories and lived experience related to hoarding.
