Seeking your feedback on new NHS principles for public involvement in west and north London
West and North London ICB is speaking to residents about how they want to be involved in decisions about health and care.
As an Integrated Care Board (ICB) we are responsible for making sure that people have the right support available from the NHS in their area – whether that’s from a GP, a pharmacy, a dentist, from mental health providers or from hospitals. We want to make it easier for residents to share feedback and ideas about the NHS so that we can make improvements that will help people get fairer care and have better experiences.
Since May 2026, more than 1000 residents and hundreds of local partners have actively contributed to the development of our new public involvement approach. We are very grateful for the time, expertise and experience that has been shared with us so far, thank you for your contributions to that. You can read a summary of what people have told us so far on our website.
Based on the feedback we have received, we have developed five draft principles to guide how we involve people and communities across west and north London’s 13 boroughs in decisions about health and care. These align with the NHS England core principles for effective engagement.
Through a short survey we want to know:
- Your reflections on the draft principles
- Whether you feel anything is missing
- What you’d expect West and North London ICB to do differently in order to follow these principles.
Your feedback will help us develop our Public Involvement Framework, which will be published in 2027. We’re asking people to comment on the draft principles via a short survey. The survey closes at midnight on 1 November 2026. Click here to take part.
If you have any questions or would like to request a hard copy of the survey, please contact: wnlicb.publicinvolvement@nhs.
