Successful Event! Nubian Life & ESCA Community Conversation on Flu Vaccines

logo.jpgWhite City Hall hosted a community discussion session on winter influenza vaccinations on Friday 14th November, a collaborative effort between the Eastern Sudan Community Association in London and Nubian Life. This initiative aligns with our ongoing commitment to enhancing health awareness and supporting preventive health measures within the community.

The event garnered significant participation from W12 area residents, with over 110 attendees at the awareness session. This robust turnout underscores the community's keen interest in understanding the importance of influenza vaccinations and their dedication to accessing credible health information. Official representation from the National Health Service (NHS) was also present at the session.

The program commenced with opening remarks from Rayan Idris, youth secretary of the association, followed by a welcoming address from Jazz Browne, director of Nubian Life. Dr. Dean then delivered the keynote presentation, offering critical insights into infection prevention and emphasising the crucial role of influenza vaccines in safeguarding vulnerable populations.

This event underscored the spirit of partnership and effective collaboration between community and health organisations. Significantly, this initiative marks the inaugural joint activity between the Association and organisations within the Hammersmith Council area, representing a pivotal step toward broadening partnerships dedicated to enhancing public well-being.

The day also included engaging social activities, with children delighting in face painting, which contributed to a festive ambiance. A complimentary luncheon afforded attendees a valuable opportunity to network, connect, and reinforce community ties.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude extended to all attendees and supporters, reaffirming the commitment to continuing programmes that advance public health awareness and benefit the broader community.
