Summer Safeguarding Ambassadors Bulletin – supporting people who may go missing or become disorientated
Please find at the link below the SAEB Safeguarding Ambassadors Summer Bulletin 2026, which focuses on supporting loved ones, neighbours and members of our communities who may be at risk of going missing or becoming confused or disorientated due to memory loss, dementia, health conditions or sudden medical symptoms.
This edition includes a powerful lived experience story from Hassnaa, highlighting how quickly someone can become vulnerable and why it is so important to have key information available in advance. The bulletin also explains the Herbert Protocol and shares practical Safeguarding Ambassador tips, including keeping emergency contacts up to date, carrying identification, using phone safety features, and having early conversations with family members, carers and trusted people.
Our aim is to raise awareness and encourage simple, practical steps that can help people stay safer, connected and supported in moments of crisis - A completed form, an emergency contact, or a small piece of identification can make all the difference when someone needs help quickly.
