Understanding risks and improving security - Workshop for the Migrant and Community Sector (03.07.25)
Many organisations in our sector are continuing to reflect on the riots last summer as well as other security risks. We are trying to ensure our services and spaces are safe for our staff, communities, and clients. It is a daunting task. This workshop will provide training and time to learn and share around security for our sector.
When: 9.30am - 1.30pm on Thursday 3 July
Where: Hammersmith Quaker Meeting House, 30-32 Bradmore Park Road, London W6 0DT
What: The Community Security Trust (CST) will provide training on assessing security risks, responding in an emergency, and how to deliver security-minded communications.
The East European Resource Centre (EERC) will then facilitate a session for to digest the learnings from the training as well as share attendee experiences, current practice, and how we can balance security with delivering our services.
There will be good sandwiches and salads provided for lunch. All participants are welcome to stay and enjoy.
Who: This workshop is focused on the practicalities of running community spaces and offices in our sector. Staff and volunteers with responsibility for operations and programme delivery are likely to benefit most.
This event is free and we welcome participants from across our incredible sector. The venue is fully accessible.
