Update on Adult Community Specialist Palliative Care – March 2026
We’ve published a new March 2026 update on our website, which explains the latest progress, next steps, and how we are continuing to work with local partners, patients, families and carers to improve services across all eight boroughs.
What’s new since the previous update?
- We’ve continued moving from planning to implementation of the new, single model of care
- Work is underway with partners, clinicians, patients and carers to make sure services are more consistent and fair wherever people live
- We’re now focusing on supporting the transition to the new model, including the changes agreed last year, such as keeping all existing 57 hospice beds, creating 46 new enhanced end‑of‑life beds, and improving 24/7 advice and home‑based care
- We’re developing detailed borough‑level implementation plans so improvements can be rolled out safely and smoothly, building on feedback from years of engagement and consultation.
