VSSF Small Grants Fund now open for Expressions of Interest

Kensington and Chelsea Foundation logo.pngKensington + Chelsea Foundation is working in partnership with Kensington + Chelsea Council (RBKC) to manage the VSSF Small Grants Fund for 2027-30, and they are pleased to let you know that this fund is now open for Expressions of Interest (EOIs).

Here’s what you need to know:

  • This funding is for fixed grants of £25,000/year for three years for core costs
  • It’s open to registered charities, constituted groups and CICs limited by guarantee based in the borough with a total annual income of under £250,000.
  • If your organisation has already applied for an Open or Infrastructure grant, you are not eligible to apply to this strand
  • You can find the full guidelines and Expression of Interest form here.
  • The deadline for EOIs is Friday 25th September 2026 at 5pm.
  • We are committed to empowering local people to decide how funds are invested. For this fund we will be allocating grants using a participatory grant-making (PGM) approach. This means a grants panel of 10 K+C residents have set the criteria and application questions, and will assess how well your proposal meets the aims and criteria of the fund. All panelists have lived experience of the issues the fund is seeking to address, have received comprehensive training and are being paid for their time.

If you’d like to talk to them before applying, they will be holding two online sessions on Microsoft Teams to answer any questions you may have:

However if you can’t make either of those sessions, please feel free to get in touch with them to arrange a call another time at grants@thekandcfoundation.com
