Westminster Rent Support Fund
We have launched the Rent Support Fund to help our council (secure) tenants struggling with rent payments during the cost of living crisis. We have set aside the sum of £1m to support our tenants.
The Council’s Rent Support Fund has been created specifically to help those in financial difficulty. The money will be used to cover some or all of the upcoming rent increases for households who are not entitled to full housing benefits. Tenants who are eligible for full benefits will receive the increase in their Housing Benefit or Universal Credit payments.
We will be contacting our residents who need support by text, phone, letters, and house calls. We will also be reaching out to faith networks, libraries, and schools to ensure the support message is received right across the city.
