Guided Walk: Stories in Sculpture
Wednesday 30th July
Meet at 10:30am
WCC Office: Waterloo Community Counselling, Greet House, Frazier Street, SE1 7BD
The walk will be led by Alison, a fantastic and friendly Lambeth Tour Guide:
"I lived around Lambeth for 3 years, and was amazed by all the stories on every street corner. Now I have moved away and really miss it, so I'm very much looking forward to our walk on 30th July. I am no artist, and definitely not a sculptor, but I can understand and appreciate the sculptures we see on a daily basis in Lambeth when I know more about the stories behind them.
Our tour will begin in London Waterloo Station with the National Windrush Monument and The Sunbathers. We will visit St Thomas' Hospital to see four sculptures, which tell us the history of the hospital. We will also view some sculpted wildlife in that area! We will finish in Archbishop's Park, with The Gardener's Hand and Tuckshop Tanner. I hope you will enjoy discovering more about the history and culture of Lambeth, as well as appreciating the sculptures!
Lunch and travel expenses are covered.
