See below information about how to access the current Safeguarding training offer from RBKC and Westminster City Councils (Bi-borough). Please note that the offer below requests that organisations who wish to attend should email Delyth Shaw to request further information and link to the dates on offer.

Dear colleagues,

Following a number of training requests the Safeguarding Team has received over the last few months, we have recently decided that we will offer Safeguarding Adults Awareness Training on a quarterly basis.  These sessions will be open to a range of sectors, both to internal colleagues within local authority departments, as well as to provider services and voluntary sector agencies who work in the Bi-Borough.

This course has been developed to provide attendees with an awareness of what adult safeguarding is as set out under the provisions of the Care Act 2014 and support staff to identify signs and indicators of abuse and neglect and to understand the referral pathway to raise a safeguarding concern.

The session will cover:

  •  Safeguarding principles and Making Safeguarding Personal
  •  Relevant legislation, policy and procedures – including Care Act duties
  •  Responding to safeguarding concerns and undertaking enquiries
  •  Cooperation, partnership and information sharing
  •  Learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews.

The training will be delivered by Delyth Shaw Safeguarding Strategic Manager  and Hugh Constant, Safeguarding Service Operational Manager on the following dates:

  • 16/02/2023 9.30am – 12.30pm
  • 23/05/2023 9.30am – 12.30pm
  • 07/09/2023 9.30am – 12.30pm
  • 07/11/2023 9.30am – 12.30pm
We plan to deliver the courses virtually via MS Teams via Eventbrite.  We are aiming to accept up to 30 participants per session, and if a session becomes over-subscribed we will offer an opportunity to book on another date.

If you want to reserve your place please email  Delyth Shaw with your details and we can send through our pre-training requirements and the link to the current training dates on offer
