Community In-Reach Programme
The Community In‑Reach Programme is all about working with community organisations led by or supporting African and Caribbean people across Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. We’re looking for organisations that will host culturally rooted health & wellbeing events in places people know and trust. Instead of expecting people to travel to clinics or navigate complicated systems, events bring support and advice into places where people already gather such as community centres, faith spaces, youth hubs, cultural venues and more.
The programme is delivered in partnership by:
- BME Health Forum — local programme lead
- Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC)
- One Westminster
- NHS North West London Integrated Care Board - who fund the programme.
The Community In‑Reach programme aims to deliver up to 10 community in-reach events per year, for 2 years. Funding will be awarded to organisations with a definite track record of delivering locally. Each successful organisation will receive approximately £3000 per event. Host organisations are expected to lead on booking a suitable venue, arranging catering, engaging their community and managing the event on the day. BME HF will support you by connecting your organisation with NHS services that will attend the event, support you to shape your event, its promotion and overall coordination where needed.

“Celebrating our Health” Community In-Reach Launch event at the Stowe!
The BME Health Forum, together with a steering group of African and Caribbean led community organisations hosted the Launch Event of the Community In-Reach programme of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster at the Stowe Centre on Saturday 13th June – We called it “ Celebrating our Health” and it was a truly fun, engaging and informative day bringing together the community with fun activities, free exercise sessions, dance show from Paddington Arts youth dance group, music, health talks, free haircuts from Mane Culture, delicious African and Caribbean food from local caterers and NHS professionals offering a range of information on health issues and research initiatives relevant to African and Caribbean communities. We also had a range of stalls from local community organisations and on the spot blood pressure checks.
