Pimlico Toy Library service and information (2024)
The Pimlico Toy Library is a 39 year old independent Registered Charity. Funding for all our running costs is raised annually from Trusts, Individuals, Public and Corporate Sectors.
Families with a child 0–11 years are welcome to join. If you, or your child has a disability please come and see if the toy library meets your needs.
Timetable for 0-4’s and their parent/carer
- Monday 10.00–12.00 and 1.00- 3.00: Stay, play & toy- loan Session
- Tuesday 10.00–12.00: and 1.00–3.00: Stay, play & toy- loan Session
Come and go as you please - but please arrive before 11.30 or 2.30.
- Wednesday 09.45 & 10.45: Hartbeeps.com interactive Music and Toy-loan
Please arrive early enough to join the start of each class
* During School holidays the timetable usually changes
How much does it Cost?
- membership per family for 12 months is £20 (if the fee is a problem please talk to staff)
- session fee is £1.00 per child, includes a drink for adult and child
- toy-loan: 50p per-toy per-week for the majority of our 1000 toys
How do I join?
- come and try a play-session
- collect, or email for a membership form to complete and return.
- agree to and follow the guidelines, which aim to keep each family safe.
Toy-loan
- families can borrow up to 2 toys per child aged 0-11 years, for two weeks
- the majority are 50p per week loan fee
- toys include dressing-up clothes, baby-gyms, sorters, games puzzles scooters & helmets
- toys are washed and checked on return.
- please return toys on time, clean and with all the pieces
- tell us if you lose a piece
- tell us if you break a toy and please don’t repair it.
- batteries can die overnight, please feel free to use your own
Party Loan: As well as our normal stock, we have Furniture, Soft-play and Large toys available at various prices. Please email at least 3 weeks in advance of the event to check availability and get a quote

- Ground-floor - disabled access
- Buggy park with chains provided free of charge (left outside at your own risk)

Our aim is to help children develop their potential through PLAY. We provide a safe, guided environment for children and their parents to interact with others. Qualified Toy Librarians have a wealth of knowledge and experience to help your child learn and develop the communication, social, creative and emotional skills needed to settle well into nursery and school. Toy Librarians can suggest ways to help with topics including
choosing a nursery or sleep habits.
